乌干达共和国（The Republic of Uganda），简称乌干达。是位于非洲东部的国家，横跨赤道，东邻肯尼亚，南接坦桑尼亚和卢旺达，西接刚果（金），北连南苏丹，总面积241550平方公里。全境大部位于东非高原，多湖，平均海拔1000~1200米，有“高原水乡”之称，人口4430万（2021年），全国约有65个民族。按语言划分，有班图人、尼罗人、尼罗－闪米特人和苏丹人四大族群，全国分为有135个区（District）和1个首都市，首都为坎帕拉。

公元1000年，地处乌南部的布干达地区就建立了王国。19世纪中叶，布干达王国成为东非地区最强盛的国家。1850年后，阿拉伯商人和英国、德国殖民主义者相继进入布干达，布境内爆发了基督教、天主教和伊斯兰教信徒间的连年战争，布干达王国迅速衰落。1890年，英、德签订瓜分东非协议，布干达划为英势力范围。1894年6月，英宣布布干达为其“保护国”。1896年，英将“保护国”范围扩展到乌全境，并于1907年在乌设总督。1962年10月9日，乌宣布独立，保留布干达等4个自治王国，成立乌干达联邦，仍留在英联邦内。1967年9月，废除封建王国和联邦制，建立乌干达共和国。

乌干达是英联邦、不结盟运动、非洲联盟、东非共同体（EAC）、东南非共同市场（COMESA）和政府间发展组织（IGAD）等组织成员国。2021年乌干达国内生产总值404.3亿美元，国内生产总值增长率3.38%，人均国内生产总值858美元。
